Journey to Housing Program

We thank Community Financial for their past support to alleviate homelessness in Western Wayne County.

The Society of St. Vincent De Paul of Detroit (SVdP) requests your assistance for our special works initiative, “The Journey to Housing Program” (JTHP), in service and support of the poor in the western Wayne County area of southeastern Michigan,

We have housed over 39 families since our inception in 2014 Approx. 0% of our families remain housed a year after completing our program. Your donation will allow us to provide permanent housing arrangements based on the nationally recognized Housing First Model. With
the support of family counseling through social workers and a budget counselor, our two-year program goal is to move a family/ individual into a self-sufficient independent living arrangement. During that time, our team will be actively working to put persons in contact with appropriate government agencies to provide them assistance.

*Nominees must be a 501(c)(3) organization, associated with an accredited educational institution or a recognized community support organization serving the communities within Community Financial's field of membership. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of Community Financial team members and will be awarded based upon the judges own evaluation and discretion. All decisions of the panel are final.
