A special thank you to everyone that told us what good you could do with $1,000! Our 6th annual Summer of Sharing campaign received 366 wonderful stories about the great work being done by charities, community and education groups in the cities around us.  Community Financial is proud to have donated $1,000 to the sixty-five organizations shown below.  Thank you all for the work you do to enrich our communities!

Otsego Conservation District

Posted By: Jessica Kane (June 11, 2016)
The Otsego Conservation District provides free educational opportunities for the residents of Otsego County to learn about natural resources and conservation. One of its largest events throughout the year is the annual Art in the Garden Festival. It takes place in the beautiful Demonstration Garden off of Livingston Blvd in Gaylord at the end of June. This fabulous event features conservation workshops for children and adults (e.g. making puddlestones for wildlife, making bird feeders, and how to landscape with native plants). It also features local artists and live music. This event is completely free as the District raises the funds to rent the tents, tables and chairs for the workshops as well as all the materials for the workshops, paying the musicians, and marketing the event. If the District were to receive the $1,000 grant, the timing would determine if it was used towards the 2016 or 2017 event.
