Remembering Cherubs

Posted By: Beth Pawuk (August 18, 2022)
Remembering Cherubs provides support, guidance, and education to parents who have experienced pregnancy loss, and their loved ones. This funding would help Remembering Cherubs in hosting its inaugural "Wave of Light and Community Game Night" event. This event allows parents to memorialize their loss during the "Wave of Light" ceremony, and then will allow them to build community bonds with other parents of loss during the game night portion of the evening.

Community Grown Garden

Community Grown Garden is a place where people and food meet. On a weekly basis, 10-30 school children, from the surrounding communities, visit to learn all aspects of "farming" from preparation, seed sowing, watering, feeding and harvest. On a weekly basis, a portion of the produce (25-50 pounds) is donated to support local food pantries and service organizations to alleviate food insecurity. On a weekly basis, 10-20 volunteers enjoy getting their hands dirty to support the "teach, grow, give" mission. This happens all year around because of the hoop house technology being used. Come Visit to get dirty -

VFW Post 2356

Posted By: Krista Creekmore (August 17, 2022)
The VFW Post 2356 is the only post left open now in Montmorency county. They work hard at keeping the fish fry going on Fridays, doing military funerals for our veterans all over the county, and donating the use of the hall for funerals dinners. They support our local girl scouts and little league teams. They make sure our little town of Hillman still celebrates VJ Day by raising money for activities and they always make sure we have an awesome fireworks display at the end of the day. They loan out all sorts of hospital equipment for people in need. Every year they narrate the process of the flag folding and what each fold means to the highschool and elementary kids in Hillman so our children know the meaning of the folded flag and what it stands for. If anyone deserves to be considered, it's the VFW Post 2356.

Roots Montessori School

Posted By: Carolyn Cornell (August 16, 2022)
Roots Montessori is a new school located in downtown Plymouth. We have grown from a school of 3 in 2018 to a school of 60+! The 2022-2023 school year is the first that we will have a full-time music program and we are in need of basic elementary classroom music instruments. Our wish list includes xylophones, sand blocks, drums, rhythm sticks, tambourines, boomwhackers, woodblocks, and more! These essential instruments make ensemble work possible, spark kids' creativity and passion for music, and allow them to explore and build on their music skills. Our kids have been so grateful and excited to participate in any and all music activities (even music on a cart), and I can only imagine the joy they would feel if we would be able to use actual instruments in our music making. Thank you for considering helping foster more music, self-expression, and creativity in our school!
