Blue Ox Chapter Tornado Relief Grant Application

Credit union members, who are residents of Otsego County and sustained severe damages resulting from the tornado and storm of May 20, 2022, are eligible to apply for a $500 grant from the Blue Ox Chapter of Credit Unions. One grant per household. Funds are limited and will be granted on a first come, first served basis.

All applicants must:

  1. Be a member of a Blue Ox Chapter Credit Union in good standing.*
    • Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union
    • Alpena Community Credit Union
    • Awakon Federal Credit Union
    • Calcite Credit Union
    • Community Financial Credit Union
    • HPC Credit Union
    • North Central Area Credit Union
    • Northland Area Federal Credit Union
    • Straits Area Federal Credit Union
    • Wolverine State Credit Union
  2. Be a member of a Blue Ox Chapter Credit Union prior to May 20, 2022.
  3. Have incurred severe damage (of at least $500) to primary, residential home or vehicle.
  4. Be 18 years or older.
*Credit Union employees, Board/Committee members and their immediate family are not eligible to apply.


Damages/Expenses that Qualify for Grant Funds:
  • Professional labor expenses
  • Heating systems
  • Water heaters
  • Electrical/mechanical
  • Flooring
  • Wall insulation and coverings
  • Handicap accessibility (ramps, sidewalks, etc.)
  • Other related damages or expenses, including vehicles

By signing this form, I attest that I am at least 18 years of age, a member as of May 20, 2022 in good standing of one of the eligible credit unions listed above, I am not a credit union employee, board/ committee member or a member of their immediate family and that the expenses I have documented above were incurred from the damages of the May 2022 Tornado and are not covered or reimbursed by my insurance policy.
