SUMMER OF SHARING

Community Financial Credit Union has been enhancing the lives of our members and our communities for over 70 years. The word “community” is not only in our name, but it is the core of everything we do. Community Financial remains committed to supporting the communities we serve—but we need your help!

What GOOD Could You Do With $1,000?

Do you know of a worthy organization that could use some extra funds? This summer, Community Financial is donating $60,000 to nonprofit, educational, and community organizations throughout Michigan!*

That’s $1,000 a day every Monday – Friday from June 13, 2022 – September 2, 2022!

Begining June 1st, you'll be able to SHARE your story of which organization you think deserves $1,000 for the great work they do in our community.

Our 2022 Program has now ended. Check out this year's recipients!

Community Opportunity Center

Posted By: Billy Heaton (June 1, 2022)
Communiity Opportunity Center has been in existence for over 50 years bringing housing to persons with a developmental disability. Some 80 residents are served in the communities of Plymouth, Livonia, Redford, and Garden City. Lots of added expense has been incurred because of Covid with keeping the residents well and safe. Staff have been very caring, but the labor market is very tight, especially for the lower paying jobs. The $1,000 from Community Financial will go a long way in helping COC keep the homes in good condition and continuing to provide good, caring staff.

I have been a volunteer with COC most of the time of its existence, and I know funds are well spent to provide housing and care for those very vulnerable persons in our area. Thank you for your consideration.

The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund - Veterans Dormitory

Posted By: Sharon vanSpronsen (June 1, 2022)
The FWSF offers a program that supports Michigan-based veterans who are experiencing financial hardship because of injuries sustained in the Iraq or Afghanistan campaigns. There are currently 3,800 homeless vets in Michigan.
Henry Ford built the Veterans’ Dormitory located in Canton, MI in Cherry Hill Village, during WWII. It provided housing for disabled veterans who worked at the Ford Factory. Canton’s Partnership for the Arts & Humanities restored the dormitory. It currently serves as a residence for veterans struggling to find housing and those who need a supportive environment.
The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund is leasing the Veterans’ Dormitory for vets who are in need of temporary housing. The FWSF has transitioned three men into permanent, stable housing so far. Your donation will thank veterans for their service and it will enable The FWSF to continue their supportive work in the community. The FWSF, a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization
