Summer of Sharing Campaign
Community Financial Credit Union has been enhancing the lives of our members and our communities for over 65 years. The word “community” is not only in our name, but it is the core of what we do. We know that Community Financial would not exist without our members and the communities in which they live.
Strong business can only grow from a strong community that benefits everyone, which is why helping nonprofits, educational, and community groups is a part of our culture. We believe these groups have a tremendous impact on the communities we serve and it’s both our responsibility and pleasure to support them. We are committed to the communities where we do business and have devoted both time and money to help them succeed. Partnerships with local school districts, The Salvation Army, United Way and American Cancer Society are just a few of the ways we are making a difference.
To help build stronger communities, we are reaching out to our neighbors and asking for your help. Think about it.
What GOOD could you do with $1,000? What charity, community group or school group could use some extra funds?
Share your story of the GOOD you could do by clicking on the SHARE button.
We will be donating $60,000 this summer! That's $1,000 a day every Monday – Friday from June 12, 2017 – September 1, 2017.
Kent Lake PTO

Guided reading is a strong component of a balanced literacy program at Kent Lake Elementary School in South Lyon. All students benefit from guided reading because teachers provide individualized and small group instruction through texts that are at the instructional levels for all students. Students work alongside teachers within these texts on strategies that benefit the readers in order to increase their reading proficiency. Teachers monitor progress and adjust the books according to student proficiency in fluency and comprehension. The books are intentionally written to work on specific skills and appropriately progress in difficulty as reading levels increase. The Kent Lake Elementary PTO would be honored to receive $1,000 to increase the number and quality of texts to ensure students have texts that interest them and help them progress as a reader.

This is my first year with Love Runs and running in the Detroit FREEP Marathon. I am running in order to raise funds to help the entire metro Detroit area find and help heal victims of human trafficking. Each person has value and we want to help find those that are missing and help bring in resources to end human trafficking and rehabilitate victims to start a new life. Human trafficking is everywhere including Ypsilanti, Grosse Point, Detroit, Adrian and Canton. Every dollar donated brings healing to the area.
Otsego County Historical Society

The downtown museum is a gem of the community. It stores all the wonderful history of Otsego County. It's a place to find old items, pictures and other treasures that our past residents used or had. It's our history to be shared by all, the young and the old. The museum is staffed by volunteers and have a mission to preserve, protect and share Otsego history to all. They call it "HISTORY MATTERS". But it takes money to care for all this history, so I'm asking if Community Financial would please consider making a $1000.00 grant to continue this great mission to preserve our history. Thank you for all your support.
