Northville Fire Rescue Explorer Post 1717

Post 1717 is hosted by the Fire Department and a division of Scouts BSA. This is an educational program for high school aged youth to learn about Fire/EMS as a future career. There is a shortage of candidates in the career field. Approximately 80% of program alumni go on to emergency services or military. This groups ensures our communities remain safe by attracting future responders. As a part of their education, members assist the FD on standbys, public education/relation events and major emergencies. This group performs service projects around the community. This group is self-funded. Fundraising has been hampered by the pandemic. Needs for the group include training props and supplies, firefighting gear/PPE, and tuition and costs for events and academies. Additionally, all the group's equipment and supplies can be used as emergency reserves for the fire department to serve the community.
