Vanderbilt Community Food Pantry

Vanderbilt Community Food Pantry is a joint partnership with Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Vanderbilt Community Church and hosted at Vanderbilt Community Church. We collect food from the surrounding area and give everything away on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:30. Although the food is donated, there are still expenses involved with sorting, packaging and displaying the food, as well as disposing of unusable food, so the money would be used to offset the expense normally carried by both churches. There are no requirements to receive the food, and we normally serve roughly 150 families in need per week. The two churches rotate every other week in manning the pantry with the volunteers donating their time and expense to travel to various locations in Otsego county to pick up the food and then return to Vanderbilt where the items are cleaned, sorted, and displayed for the "shoppers".
