The Army of Survivors

Founded by survivors of Larry Nassar, the Army provides information and resources to survivors and previvors of athletic abuse. Their goal is to support those affected by this systemic problem as well as create sweeping cultural and policy change that encourages accountability. The nonprofit has done incredible work in both encouraging a community among sister survivors and speaking out, increasing community awareness and empathy, collaborating with policymakers and national conferences, and creating social media campaigns and informational resources for those struggling with abusive situations. They are almost completely volunteer-run, so it is a group fueled by passion and deep personal connection to their community. $1,000 would support the management of these volunteers as well as the production of print resources like trauma-informed training, legal rights, and conference support.
