A special thank you to everyone that told us what good you could do with $1,000! Our 6th annual Summer of Sharing campaign received 366 wonderful stories about the great work being done by charities, community and education groups in the cities around us. Community Financial is proud to have donated $1,000 to the sixty-five organizations shown below. Thank you all for the work you do to enrich our communities!
The BLOCK Youth and Teen Center
Posted By: Laura Mortier (July 21, 2016)
The B.L.O.C.K. Youth and Teen Center was established in 2005. It is a unique facility that provides out-of-school programming specifically designed to target at-risk youth, ages 11-17, as identified by the Canton Public Safety Department. The program provides the opportunity for youth to engage in supervised leisure activities. There has been a recent increase of young children in several of our "outreach" sites. This donation would help fund on-site monthly programs for youth ages 5-10 and fill a gap in our services. Programs/topics would include: healthy choices, positive interactions with Public Safety, anti-bullying, community resources, reading, physical fitness and more.
