Foster Closet of Michigan - Western Wayne County Branch

Posted By: Laura Jackson (June 4, 2018)
Children who are put into the foster care system often leave their surroundings with nothing but the clothes on their back. The families who take them in often have to purchase clothing, toiletries, and even a bed to be able to care for the children. The Foster Closet of Wayne County - Western Branch is an excellent resource for these families. The Foster Closet provides clothing, underclothing, shoes, toys, baby equipment, and furniture to help the children transition to a new home. Being able to have something to call their own helps to build the child’s self esteem and helps alleviate the financial burden for the foster families. The Foster Closet of Wayne County - Western Branch would use the $1,000 to purchase new socks, underwear, hygiene products, diapers and wipes to replenish the closet.
