Friends of Peninsular Park (Ypsilanti)

The Friends of Peninsular Park ( FOPP) was formed several years ago to restore, repair and revitalize a Park in deep distress. Peninsular Park is widely used for recreation, kayaking, fishing and strolling by many multi generational citizens. The City of Ypsilanti struggles with a minimal budget for this public and well used facility. Thus, FOPP has repaired picnic benches, restored landscaping, planted flowers and shrubs, cut weeds, assisted in dock repair and badly needed trash pick up and general clean up. Sponsoring a annual "Clean Up" Day, we featured free Tshirts with the iconic Pen dam featured in the design along with free pizza. We badly need more funds to continue our community repair and clean up work and also to make the park more safe.
