Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM)

We have twin boys with autism, and the AAoM has helped us in many ways. Their MiNavigator hotline (staffed by a team of autism specialists with expertise in many fields) was created to provide a professional case management service to Michigan families affected by autism. They help families navigate the maze of insurance and services, work to ensure the schools are providing children all the supports and services they need with high expectations and inclusion and help move the 90% unemployed adults with autism into jobs. They also have other signature programs like our Safety Training program, which has trained over 19,000 first responders across the state in autism awareness and safety.
The AAoM expands opportunities and improves the quality of life for people touched by autism across Michigan. More information can be found at aaomi.org. I hope you will consider them for your summer of sharing program.
