ConnectUS

ConnectUS is a volunteer run nonprofit providing valuable programming for individuals with severe multiple disabilities (most use wheelchairs) in the metro Detroit area at no charge to participants or their families. This program provides stimulating adaptive activities for participants as well as valuable skills and experience for volunteers and interns.

ConnectUS relies entirely on fundraising and gifts from generous donors to build and purchase adaptive equipment that helps further our mission of enabling even the most severely challenged individuals to participate in productive activities. Donations are used for additional adaptive equipment and supplies that allow for our program areas to be spaced-out and re-configured to create safe volunteer areas for the individuals with fragile immune systems that ConnectUS supports. Projects completed by participants are donated to other local nonprofits creating a community of collaboration!

*Nominees must be a 501(c)(3) organization, associated with an accredited educational institution or a recognized community support organization serving the communities within Community Financial's field of membership. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of Community Financial team members and will be awarded based upon the judges own evaluation and discretion. All decisions of the panel are final.
