Women Exploring Woodworking, Hillman Jr./Sr. High School

Posted By: Joshua Brege (July 3, 2016)
Hillman Jr./Sr. High School Career and Technical Education Program strives to inspire young people to achieve their maximum potential. The program will be opening the same opportunity to adult women via the course, Women Exploring Woodworking. The goal is to offer hands-on woodworking courses to adult women from our surrounding communities. Over the last five years the shop facility has been completely renovated and has the proper equipment to adequately serve students safely and efficiently. A certified instructor teaches all offered courses and skilled students volunteer as shop assistants. This is a great program for the youth at Hillman Jr. / Sr. High School and has potential to provide the same opportunity to adults. The course will expose women of our northeast Michigan community to the wonderful world of woodworking.
