A special thank you to everyone that told us what good you could do with $1,000! Our 6th annual Summer of Sharing campaign received 366 wonderful stories about the great work being done by charities, community and education groups in the cities around us. Community Financial is proud to have donated $1,000 to the sixty-five organizations shown below. Thank you all for the work you do to enrich our communities!
Friends of the Northville District Library
Posted By: Linda Schwelnus (July 2, 2016)
The Northville District Library serves the citizens of the City/Township of Northville. The Friends of NDL's mission is to promote, support, encourage, and enhance the services of the Library and help build a stronger relationship between the library and the community.
Those with low vision can be better served with a portable magnification device which will provide better access to the library's resources: books, magazines, etc. ($595).
A printed brochure (from 2002), distributed at school open houses and available throughout the community, is a major form of outreach for the library. It educates users and potential users about our library’s resources. It is outdated as libraries change so dramatically in this digital era. (The section on digital resources is dated, no mention of ebooks; Internet 101 classes have evolved into one-on-one TechConnect and classes on social media. Rental books have been replaced by Lucky Day free books). (printing $400)
