Nathans Ninjas

Nathan's Ninjas is a non-profit organization that was formed to educate and advocate for Duchenne muscular dystrophy - the most common degenerative genetic muscle disease in boys. We have been blessed to have so much support over the past 6 years and to have helped fund family assistance and cutting edge research for treatment and one day a cure for the disease, but we know we can do even more!
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is typically diagnosed between the ages of 2 and 6 and primarily affects boys. In fact, 99 percent of the almost 20,000 new cases each year are boys, meaning 1 boy out of every 3,500 will be diagnosed. Duchenne is a progressive muscle wasting disease so as other boys are getting stronger, Nathan and others like him are getting weaker. Everyday he faces challenges, but he pushes through and comes out on the other side with a smile.

*Nominees must be a 501(c)(3) organization, associated with an accredited educational institution or a recognized community support organization serving the communities within Community Financial's field of membership. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of Community Financial team members and will be awarded based upon the judges own evaluation and discretion. All decisions of the panel are final.
