Journey to Housing Program
Posted By: Prof. Daniel L. Faoro (June 3, 2019)
We are a transitional housing program for the suburban homeless in western Wayne County in 2013. We help those in need regardless of race, creed or religious affiliation. Using the Housing First Model we place homeless individuals and families in apartments or homes as rapidly as possible and provide financial support. Most importantly we provide mandatory in-home case management services. Our two-year goal is to move a family into a self-sufficient independent living. We actively work to put persons in contact with government agencies which will provide more long-term assistance. We have an all volunteer board and staff with a Executive Director paid a modest stipend. We have successfully had 29 families complete our program and have approx. 8 families (34 persons) this year in the program who need your help, many have one disabled member. Our website is https://www.journeytohousing.org/ to learn about us.
