Livonia Franklin High School Mathematics Department

Using the grant award to purchase ten TI-84 graphing calculators would be an incredible gift to the students of Franklin High School. These calculators, if purchased by the student, cost well over $100, which just is not feasible for many of our students. The calculators would allow more students to access technology that can make the solving of in-depth, challenging and sophisticated, multi-step math problems less troublesome, and more understandable. The calculators are tools that can be used in all levels of math, for all grades. Having graphing calculators available to students in math classrooms drastically improve success, builds confidence, and makes our students even more capable of solving difficult math problems, thus allowing for greater successes in the future.
