Seedlings Braille Books for Children

My name is Jared and I was born blind with no useful vision. Today I am employed full-time in the Software Engineering industry, a job I couldn't do if I hadn't learned braille. Without the childhood literacy skills Seedlings Braille Books for Children provided to me, I would not be able to have a job in the modern workforce with the amount of reading and writing most jobs require. I am also married and a father to two young children, both of whom are sighted. Because I can read braille, I am able to read them bedtime stories and pass along to them my love for the written word. With the birth of both my daughter and son, Seedlings has now come full circle in my life.

*Nominees must be a 501(c)(3) organization, associated with an accredited educational institution or a recognized community support organization serving the communities within Community Financial's field of membership. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of Community Financial team members and will be awarded based upon the judges own evaluation and discretion. All decisions of the panel are final.
