Money Market Rates | Savings Rates Your Accounts are Insured Savings at Community Financial are protected up to $350,000, the highest level of combined federal/private share insurance available. Your accounts are federally insured to $100.000 by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA), an agency of the U.S. Government. Your savings are privately insured for an additional $250,000 by Excess Share Insurance Corporation (ESI). ESI is a subsidiary of American Share Insurance. This coverage is made available, at no cost to members. There are no enrollment forms to sign – credit union accounts are automatically covered. Basic Savings Account : You can join Community Financial by opening a Basic Savings Account. The minimum deposit to open this account is just $5. An aggregate balance of $300 or more will earn dividends and waive the monthly $3 service fee. This savings account is accessible through a ATM's, Direct Dial 24 telephone and our Internet banking service, WebPB. Your Basic Savings Account can be used as overdraft protection on your credit union Checking Accounts (up to six electronic fund transfers (EFT) allowed per month). Super Savers Accounts: Community Financial offers members with savings balances of $1,000 or more a Super Savers Account. This account pays higher dividends and gives members the same access to funds as our Basic Savings Account. Balances under $1,000 are subject to a $5 monthly service fee. Holiday Club and Special Savings Accounts: These accounts can help you set money aside for any number of reasons. You can make deposits any time and in any amount. In November, the credit union will transfer the funds in your Holiday Club Account to your Basic Savings Account. Deluxe Checks Online Basic Checking Accounts: A Basic Checking Accounts provides convenient access to your funds and when you maintain a balance of $500 or more, there is no monthly maintenance fee. A $3 monthly maintenance fee is charged to accounts that do not meet this minimum balance. Each month, your first 20 checks will clear the account free of charge -- regardless of your balance. There is a $.30 fee for each additional check processed after 20.
Checking Plus Account: For members who would like to earn dividends on checking funds, Community Financial offers Checking Plus. The minimum balance to open an account, earn dividends and avoid the $8 monthly fee is $2,500. High Yield Checking: This account is for members who keep higher balances in their checking account. You'll earn money market rates on balances over $10,000 and have unlimited access. There is no minimum balance to open your account or earn dividends. Accounts that fall below $2,500 will be accessed a $15 monthly fee. Money Market Accounts: Choose from five insured options. Each option earns a high dividend rate that is compounded daily and paid monthly. Money Market Account withdrawals can be made a variety of ways including checks, Direct Dial 24, and WebPB but some restrictions do apply.
Certificate Accounts: A minimum deposit of $1,000 will open any of our Share Certificate Accounts. Flexible terms ranging from 90 days to 5 years are available. Certificates of $10,000 or more qualify for rate bonuses of up to .20% under our Member Rewards Program. Check current rates. Youth Certificates: Young members, just learning to save, can open any certificate account for as little as $100. The current base rate will apply to these accounts. IRA Certificate Accounts: A minimum deposit of $500 will open any of our IRA Share Certificate Accounts. Flexible terms ranging from 90 days to 5 years are available. Check current rates.
